On behalf of the City of Brandon, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to everyone attending the 8th Annual Lieutenant Governorís Winter Festival. It is a rich and vibrant celebration of Brandonís cultural diversity.

On February 3, 4, and 5, 2011, Brandon will be transformed into one of the biggest stages on the prairies, drawing performers and visitors from far and wide. Last year, there were more than 57,000 pavilion visits, and the Winter Festival continues to grow!

The Festival remains squarely a Ďgrassrootsí event, driven by the enthusiastic support it receives from Brandonís multicultural communities. The Winter Festival is the result of countless hours of hard work and the commitment of over 600 volunteers. I would like to extend my thanks to those volunteers, City staff, individuals, and groups who have worked so hard to bring us thirteen outstanding pavilions. A very special thank you to the Colombian Pavilion, who is this yearís Host Pavilion.

My sincere thanks is extended to all these people and to the festival sponsors who support the Lieutenant Governorís Winter Festival in staging this marvellous celebration of inclusiveness, unity, harmony and goodwill.
