If the Educational Core courses were the raw materials of the construction process, then this course, Contemporary Approaches to Curriculum Studies is the bonding agent that serves to house the materials.
This course started to make connections for me. It offered a space for collaboration with peers, theories, and space to explore how they are relevant in my educational community. In this course I started to connect my personal and educational experiences with underlying theories. I was able to start to use a language of understanding and apply it to real-life situation.

In this essay, I was able to move out of my role as a classroom teacher and do some work in my Registrar role. I chose to look at a non-academic program that is supported in our school and critically assess it’s purpose and whether it is accessible to all students.
